Open Distance Learning of Modern Engineering Tool and Its Assessment for Civil Engineering Design Project

Open distance learning (ODL) is a new paradigm shift from conventional education systems that provide flexibility to learners in accessing and training without constraints of time place. Full Implementation ODL initiated all institutions higher Malaysia after announcement movement control order by the prime minister March 2020 due COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims investigate impact attainment program outcome (PO5) modern engineering tool usage for civil design project course. In environment, teaching method, assessment rubrics PO5 were revised accordingly. Online practical test was set as only evaluate students’ ability using this Prokon software employed used students carrying out their individual projects well online tests. Result has shown average dropped significantly when took Also, percentage failed rose semesters during It anticipated remote evaluation process could be unrealistic measure psychomotor domain. The challenges tools are discussed, actions need taken tackle problems improve among under an environment.
